Pet Assurance to the Rescue
15-Jan-2008

A little Toy Terrier dog was found running in a field chasing a horse.  What a spectacle it must of been to watch a 10-pound dog run after a stallion.  The hikers that found him said the dog greeted them happily, pouncing in the air with excitement.  They noticed his hair was course, he was a bit dirty and likely malnourished.  They took him home with them, fed him well and took him to the vet the next day.

The vet listened to the heroic tale and suggested scanning the dog for a microchip.  Hotdog!  He actually had a microchip.  Using that chip, the vet and the hikers who found the dog would be able to track down the owners of the dog using the contact information associated with the mircrochip.  After several attempts at reaching the owners, it was clear the information on the microchip was no longer valid.  They must of moved or changed phone numbers.

The hikers found out through the microchip company that Forever Home Pet Assurance was listed as an emergency contact.  The hikers contacted Forever Home Pet Assurance and informed them of the situation.  They organized a hunt for the parents of the dog but their efforts were also unsuccessful.  Nonetheless, Forever Home Pet Assurance took custody of the dog, placing him with a wonderful foster family and began finding him a Forever Home.  Of course the hope was that during this time the rightful parents would be found.  Still the same, Forever Home Pet Assurance had a promise to keep to the dog and customers of the dog: they needed to find the owners or a Forever Home.

Forever Home Pet Assurance kept their promise.  After about 90 days of searching for the dog`s family, he was placed in a Forever Home.  And, the good news is, the new home has no horses.
